I loaded up my gear in the truck and headed to the boat launch. As I drove, I could already feel the anticipation building. I loved the feeling of being on the water, and I knew that the Turtle River was a special place.

When I arrived at the boat launch, I quickly unloaded my gear and launched my kayak. I paddled out into the river and took a deep breath. The air was cool and crisp, and the sun was just beginning to rise over the horizon.
